Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms of Service apply to your use of The Endless Canvas website and to purchases made through our online store.

Please read these Terms alongside our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy.

By placing an order through this website, you are entering into a contract with the person or business identified in our Legal Notice.

Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

1. About The Endless Canvas

The Endless Canvas is an independent UK art business offering original artwork, fine art prints, commissioned artwork and related art products.

Our full business and contact details are provided in our Legal Notice.

Throughout these Terms, “The Endless Canvas”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of this website.

“You”, “your” and “customer” refer to the person using the website or purchasing products from us.

2. Using Our Website

You may use this website for lawful personal purposes and to browse or purchase our products.

You must not intentionally:

  • interfere with the operation or security of the website;

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or associated systems;

  • use the website for fraudulent or unlawful purposes;

  • scrape, reproduce or commercially exploit website content without permission;

  • upload malicious code or otherwise attempt to damage the website.

We may restrict access to the website where reasonably necessary to protect our business, customers or website security.

3. Product Information

We take reasonable care to make sure product descriptions, photographs, dimensions, materials and prices are accurate.

Because artwork is viewed through a digital screen, colours may vary slightly from the physical artwork because of differences in:

  • screen settings;

  • device calibration;

  • lighting;

  • photography; and

  • printing or display conditions.

These differences do not affect your statutory rights where an item is materially different from its description.

Measurements are provided as accurately as reasonably possible. Small variations may occur where products are handmade.

4. Original Artwork

Original artwork is individually created by hand.

Natural variations in brushwork, texture, paper, canvas, paint, pigment and other materials are part of the individual character of an original piece.

Where an artwork is sold unframed, this will be stated on the product page.

Frames, room settings or lifestyle images shown in photographs or digital mock-ups are for presentation purposes unless the product description specifically states that a frame or other accessory is included.

Each original artwork is unique and, unless otherwise stated, only one original of that particular piece is available.

5. Fine Art Prints

Fine art prints are reproductions of original artwork and are not original paintings.

Product pages will describe the relevant:

  • print size;

  • paper or material;

  • printing method;

  • edition information, where applicable; and

  • whether a frame or mount is included.

Print dimensions may refer to the overall paper dimensions rather than the dimensions of the printed image itself.

Some artwork may include intentional white borders around the printed image. Border proportions may vary slightly between print sizes in order to preserve the original composition without unnecessary cropping.

Minor differences between an original artwork and its reproduction can occur as part of the fine art printing process.

6. Limited Editions

Where a product is described as a limited edition, the product page will state the relevant edition information.

The edition relates only to the specific product, size, format or edition described on that product page.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, purchasing a limited-edition print does not prevent The Endless Canvas from:

  • selling the original artwork;

  • displaying or publishing the artwork;

  • licensing the artwork;

  • producing the artwork in a materially different product or format; or

  • creating other products inspired by or incorporating the artwork.

Any numbered edition will not exceed the edition quantity stated for that particular edition.

7. Commissioned and Personalised Artwork

Commissioned artwork may be subject to additional commission terms agreed before the commission begins.

These may include:

  • the agreed subject or creative brief;

  • size and medium;

  • price;

  • payment or deposit arrangements;

  • estimated completion time;

  • number of revisions, where applicable;

  • approval stages; and

  • delivery arrangements.

Because commissioned and personalised artwork is created specifically for an individual customer, statutory change-of-mind cancellation rights may not apply where the personalised or made-to-order goods exception applies.

This does not affect your rights if commissioned artwork is faulty, damaged, materially different from what was agreed or otherwise does not meet your statutory rights.

Unless specifically agreed otherwise in writing, commissioning an artwork does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights to the customer.

8. Placing an Order

When placing an order, you are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is complete and accurate.

You will have an opportunity to review your order before completing payment.

After placing an order, you will normally receive an automated order confirmation.

An automated acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.

A contract for the purchase of physical goods will normally be formed when we accept and begin fulfilling your order or notify you that the order has been accepted.

For commissions or other bespoke arrangements, a contract may instead be formed when the commission is confirmed in writing or when an agreed payment or deposit is made.

9. Our Right Not to Accept an Order

We may reasonably decline or cancel an order before it has been accepted where, for example:

  • a product is unexpectedly unavailable;

  • we cannot deliver to the address supplied;

  • payment has not been authorised;

  • we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse;

  • an obvious pricing or product-information error has occurred; or

  • fulfilling the order would breach applicable law or delivery restrictions.

If payment has already been taken for an order that we do not accept, the amount paid will be refunded.

We will not increase the agreed price after a contract has been formed without your agreement.

10. Prices and Payment

Prices are displayed in the currency shown on the website.

The total amount payable, including applicable delivery charges and any taxes we are required to collect at checkout, will be shown before you complete your purchase.

For international orders, additional customs duties, import taxes, VAT or handling charges may be payable on arrival unless expressly stated as included at checkout.

Please see our Shipping Policy for further information.

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.

We do not receive or store full card details where payment is processed by a third-party payment provider.

11. Pricing Errors

We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct.

Occasionally, an obvious pricing or technical error may occur.

If we discover an obvious error before your order has been accepted, we may contact you and give you the option to purchase the product at the correct price or cancel your order.

If the order is cancelled, any amount already paid will be refunded.

12. Discount Codes and Promotions

From time to time we may offer promotional prices, discount codes, free delivery or other offers.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash;

  • only one discount code may be used per order;

  • discounts cannot normally be applied retrospectively to completed orders;

  • promotional codes may have expiry dates or product restrictions; and

  • discounts may exclude commissions, original artwork or other specified products.

Any significant restrictions or eligibility requirements will be made clear when the promotion is offered.

We may withdraw or correct a promotion where there has been an obvious error, fraud or misuse, provided this does not unfairly affect an order for which a binding contract has already been formed.

13. Delivery

Delivery options, charges and estimated times are explained in our Shipping Policy and at checkout.

We will fulfil orders within the time agreed with you or, where no different timeframe has been agreed, within the period required by applicable consumer law.

Delivery dates and carrier estimates may occasionally be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We will not use these Terms to remove any legal rights you have where delivery is unreasonably delayed or does not take place as agreed.

14. International Orders, Customs and Taxes

Orders delivered outside the United Kingdom may be subject to import duties, taxes, VAT, customs clearance fees or similar charges imposed by the destination country.

Unless explicitly stated as collected at checkout, these charges are the responsibility of the recipient.

The Endless Canvas does not determine overseas customs charges and cannot guarantee the amount that may be payable.

More information is available in our Shipping Policy.

15. Cancellation, Returns and Refunds

Your rights to cancel an eligible online order, return products or request a refund are explained in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

UK consumers purchasing eligible goods online will normally have statutory cancellation rights.

Certain exceptions may apply, including to genuinely personalised or custom-made products.

Nothing in these Terms or our Returns & Refunds Policy removes your legal rights where products are faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise fail to meet applicable consumer standards.

16. Copyright and Ownership of Artwork

All copyright and intellectual property rights in artwork remain with the artist or relevant copyright owner unless those rights have expressly been transferred in writing.

When you purchase an original artwork or print, you purchase the physical item, not the copyright in the image.

Ownership of the physical artwork therefore does not give you the right to reproduce, manufacture, distribute, license or commercially exploit the artwork.

Without prior written permission, artwork purchased from The Endless Canvas must not be reproduced for commercial purposes, including on:

  • prints;

  • clothing;

  • stationery;

  • merchandise;

  • websites;

  • advertising;

  • digital products;

  • NFTs or similar digital assets; or

  • other commercial products.

Normal personal enjoyment, display and ownership of the physical artwork are, of course, permitted.

Nothing in this section prevents uses that are expressly permitted by applicable copyright law.

17. Website Images and Content

Unless otherwise stated, artwork images, photography, illustrations, graphics, branding, written copy and other original material displayed on this website are owned by or licensed to The Endless Canvas or the relevant rights holder.

They may not be copied, reproduced or commercially exploited without permission except where permitted by law.

Images being publicly accessible online does not mean that they are free from copyright protection.

18. Artificial Intelligence and Dataset Use

Except where applicable law provides otherwise, no permission is granted to intentionally reproduce or use our original artwork, artwork images or other protected creative material for:

  • training generative artificial intelligence models;

  • constructing commercial machine-learning datasets;

  • generating commercial imitations of the artwork; or

  • creating derivative commercial products.

Where you wish to license our artwork for any such purpose, please contact us before use.

19. Resale

Purchasing artwork from The Endless Canvas does not prevent you from later selling the physical item that you own, subject to applicable law.

However, resale of the physical item does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights to the new owner.

Products must not be represented as being created, endorsed or newly supplied by The Endless Canvas where that is not the case.

20. Customer Accounts

Where customer accounts are available, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login information.

Please contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

We may suspend or close accounts where reasonably necessary because of fraud, security concerns or serious misuse of the website.

21. Reviews and Customer Content

If you submit a review, photograph or other content to us, you confirm that you have the right to submit that material and that it does not unlawfully infringe another person's rights.

Submitting a review through the website does not automatically give us ownership of your content.

Where we wish to reuse customer photographs or other substantial customer-created content for marketing, we may request permission where appropriate.

We reserve the right not to publish or to remove content that is unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, misleading or unrelated to the product or service being reviewed.

22. Third-Party Services

Our website may use services provided by third parties, including Shopify, payment processors, delivery companies and other service providers.

Third-party websites and services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the independent content or operation of third-party websites that we do not control.

This does not remove any responsibility that remains ours under consumer law for products or services that you purchase directly from The Endless Canvas.

23. Our Responsibility to You

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.

If you are purchasing as a consumer, our products are supplied for private and personal use unless otherwise agreed.

We are not responsible for business losses, such as loss of profit or business opportunity, arising from a consumer purchase.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility where doing so would be unlawful, including responsibility for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence;

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or

  • your statutory rights relating to the goods we supply.

24. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control

Occasionally, our ability to fulfil an order may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as serious carrier disruption, natural disasters, widespread service failures or other exceptional events.

Where this occurs, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect on your order and keep you informed where appropriate.

This provision does not remove any cancellation, refund or other rights you may have under applicable law.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website, products or legal requirements.

The Terms that apply to an order will normally be those in force when the relevant contract is entered into.

We will not retrospectively change an existing contract in a way that unfairly reduces your rights.

The latest version of these Terms will be published on this website with the date it was last updated.

26. If Part of These Terms Is Invalid

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply so far as legally possible.

27. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and any contract between you and The Endless Canvas are governed by the applicable law of the UK jurisdiction in which The Endless Canvas is established.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you may also benefit from mandatory consumer protections provided by the laws of your country of residence where those protections legally apply.

We encourage customers to contact us first if a problem arises so that we have an opportunity to resolve it.

Nothing in these Terms prevents you from exercising any right to bring proceedings in a court available to you under applicable consumer law.
